Same Attitude. New Altitude.Spring cleaning started out late for us this season and we've gone all out with an extreme makeover! We have completely renovated FlowSense's website as part of our in-house spring cleaning. Why? Because we think it's cool to show off what one can accomplish with a bit of JavaScript, HTML & CSS knowledge (and lots of late night bloggings). Besides, after reaching a new altitude and sharpening the saw on this momentous occasion, it's like the cicada sprouting new wings while patiently nurturing for seven years. At our new homepage, we've made the site layout easier to navigate and information can be found where needed. While our new website is a great improvement and much more user friendly than the former site, it still resonates the same philosophy we've held steadfast since FlowSense was founded just a few short years ago: One Simple Rule. As a result, we are proud to acknowledge a 200% increase in the number of employees compared to the previous year. Most companies measure the size of their worth by sales & revenues, we choose to measure our success by the contributions of our employees. So simply stated, "same attitude...with new altitude!" Employee spotlightMeet the FlowSense team! This eQuarterly, we are proud to highlight one of our many dedicated employees, all of whom are essential to our company’s success: Cameron Olson, Field Supervisor for the Minnesota Land Port of Entries. Guam anyone? How cool is that! We thrive on challenging opportunities at FlowSense and have successfully tackled many interesting projects including the integration of Lonworks to a slot machine, the building of multi-biometric systems, shipping a 2-ton custom industrial piece of equipment to Sardinia and subsequently installing it on a sub tender, and negotiating a service contract for laboratory equipment shipped to Kenya. Now, we're on our way to Guam to help the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) build more warehouse spaces. Now that's another cool factor right up there with Jimmy Buffett! Margaritaville here I come. iPad as technology enablersYou've read it here first! I have had the iPad (both the wifi & 3G versions) for about a month now and can safely predict that the iPad will be another technology enabler, changing the way we do business. As any service provider can attest, that if not mindful, phone bills can sky rocket as we have experienced over the last year. Over the past several months, we have implemented new technologies through cloud services to improve communications corporate wide, along with on-demand accessibility of information for our clients. With the on-the-go technology of the iPad, we're considering a cost saving strategy by implementing Skype with the 3G iPad over the coming months. At the same time, we are seeing how we far we can push the technology with our own custom CMMS solution. The road less traveledAsia Foundation Cambodia. While taking a summer break from her graduate program in International Development at Tufts University, Marianne Smallwood is working as an intern with the Asia Foundation in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Her goal is to help the organization reach out to the underprivileged population living in the rural communities. Marianne will be in Cambodia until late August 2010. Trade mission to Cambodia anyone?
Have a great summer!
